My Goals . . . May We Always Be Crazy!

My Goals: Ultimately my goal is to finish Leadville 100 . . . in under 25 hours.  To do so, I have set the goal to 3000 miles, don't really know where that number comes from, but it is what everyone seems to be using.  My buddy and coach, Manley, told me that I had to run 3000 miles by Leadville.  And looking at other runner’s plans, it seems to be about what they are doing or a bit less.  Manley, has finished Leadville 13 times and knows the course intimately.  I am soaking in all his words of wisdom.

I am a bit behind already . . . I took a few too many weeks off after my last race Devil mountain 50 and now I have to average about 68 miles per week.  Now my other goal is 500,000' of vertical gain, which translates to about 9,600' of gain per week.  I am a bit behind there too;  I have been averaging about 6500' per week.  I don't know how I can get the gain in and the millage with my schedule.  It is going to be a fun season.  May We Always Be Crazy!
